Create A Sun Smiley

In this tutorial learn how to create a smiley that looks like the Sun.

1. In this tutorial, we will learn to create a sun smiley.

2. Create this circle with rectangle tool.

3. Apply these layer styles in it.




4. Image after applying above layer styles

5. Create a new layer. Draw a circle with elliptical marquee tool. Set foreground to white. Select Gradient tool. Select foreground to transparent gradient and linear gradient to fill the circle from top to bottom.


6. Draw a white color circle with Ellipse tool.


7. Add these layer styles in it.

9. Draw this #447CB2 colored circle with ellipse tool.


10. Draw another black color circle.


11. Create another layer. Click on Elliptical marquee tool to draw a small circle. Set the foreground to white. Fill the selection with foreground to transparent linear gradient tool.


12. Group and merge all four eye layers. Press control+j to duplicate the layer. Press control+t to transform the layer. Enlarge it as shown in the figure.


13. Draw a black color circle as shown

14. Apply gradient overlay as shown :

16. Draw two black colored eyebrows with pen tool.


17. Select the custom shape marked by the circle.

18. Draw the shape as shown :


19. Copy the layer style of our first layer which is the face layer. To copy the layer style, first click on the target layer's name in layer pallate to activate it. Than, right click on its layer name, select copy layer style. Click on the target layer's name to activate it. Right click on its layer name and select paste layer style.


20. Control click on the newly create autoshape to select it. Create a new layer and fill it with white.



21. Use high featherd eraser tool to erase the portion of white filled layer. Your image should look like this.


22. Group and merge these two layers. Press control+j to duplicate the layer. Press control+t and rotate the layer. Do it for one more time. Our smiley is ready :)
